Mystery of Vishnupada temple

 Vishnupada temple is the holiest of Vaishnava temples, wishes to bring salvation to the fathers.

Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar

This temple was built by Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar of Indore in 1766. Jaipur craftsmen carved it by carving black granite stones. The dome of the temple is of eight dimensions in the shape of a hill cave. The height of the dome is 100 feet from the ground. The sanctum sanctorum of the temple has a 13-inch-tall stage sign of Lord Vishnucharan. There is a Mana gold flag urn in the top of the temple. The octagonal pool is made of silver in the sanctum sanctorum. In the last two-three years, the main door and exit doors of the temple have become silver.

 Gajadhar Lal Pathak, secretary of the Sri Vishnupad Temple Management Committee said that the stone on which the footprints of Lord Vishnu are inscribed in the sanctum sanctorum of the Vishnupad temple is called Dharmashila. According to Gaya Mahatmya this stone was brought from heaven. According to the Puranas, Lord Vishnu performed a yajna here on the body of a demon named Gaiasura. It started worshiping from then on. Legend has it that when the deity worried about the groom he got after the penance of Gaiasur, he tricked his body into asking him to perform a sacrificial sacrifice. Gayaasur readily accepted it. Due to fickle nature, he was not staying steady during the yajna. After this, Lord Vishnu was called and a huge rock was called. Vishnu placed his foot on Gayaasura's chest and placed his foot on it. Since then, the mark of the step sign is on the stone. Gaiasur asked God to give him the most sacred land on which he is lying (body). By giving the body on it, the fathers get salvation. He gave such a boon to God. Since then Pindadan became well-known in Gaya.

Apart from the Pindadanis, thousands of devotees visit and worship Lord Vishnu Charan inscribed on the stone in the Argh made of silver throughout the year. Vishnupada is especially adorned at night every day. Constructed by carving 30 high octagonal black granite stones, it is also visible according to the architecture.
